CHICAGO — A 26-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by two men in a Lakeview alley late Sunday night, prompting a major investigation as Chicago police continue to search for the attackers.
Assault Took Place Behind Residential Block
According to police, the woman was sitting in an alley behind the 3800 block of North Wilton Avenue around 10:45 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up with at least four occupants — including two men and two women. Authorities say two men exited the car and physically attacked the woman, forcibly removing her clothing and sexually assaulting her before fleeing in the vehicle.
Scene Reveals Evidence of Brutality
An officer at the scene told reporters that some of the victim’s clothing was found atop a garage, while additional clothing was scattered throughout the alley. Police believe this may indicate a struggle and the severity of the assault.
The woman was later treated at Thorek Memorial Hospital, according to police.
No Descriptions Released Yet
As of Monday, the Chicago Police Department has not released detailed descriptions of the suspects. Detectives are continuing their investigation and urging anyone with security camera footage or information from the area to come forward.
The 3800 block of North Wilton lies just east of the Red Line and is surrounded by residential apartments, bars, and alleyways commonly used by neighborhood pedestrians — raising concern among Lakeview residents about late-night safety.
CPD Seeks Public’s Help
