A 10-minute chase ended when the four men bailed from the vehicle. According to prosecutors:

  • Jones-El (the driver) dropped a 9mm handgun while fleeing.

  • Coleman tossed a sparkly, spray-painted handgun.

  • Collins led officers on a chase across train tracks and trees near Lake Shore Drive.

  • Johnson ran and later denied involvement.

Criminal Records and Detention

Two of the suspects had recent robbery convictions:

  • Collins served 6 years for aggravated robbery in 2023 and was on parole for a juvenile carjacking.

  • Johnson received 8 years in 2022 for a robbery near East 50th Street.

All four men are being held without bail, with the judge citing video evidence and witness statements.
