CHICAGO — A lucky Illinois Lottery player is now $1.3 million richer after winning big on the Cash Castle FastPlay game, the Illinois Lottery announced Friday.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous but referred to himself as the “King of the Castle,” hit the jackpot after purchasing the ticket through the Illinois Lottery app.
“On that particular day, I was thinking about my family—we’ve been going through some challenging times,” the winner said in a statement. “I took a chance on Cash Castle and couldn’t believe it when I actually hit the jackpot. This win truly came at the perfect time.”

Cash Castle is a $30 FastPlay progressive jackpot game. It starts at $100,000 and increases with every ticket sold until someone wins.
