Two Illinois Residents Caught With Drugs After High-Speed Chase in Hammond

ILLINOIS — Two residents of Illinois are facing felony drug and resisting arrest charges after leading police on an early morning pursuit through Hammond, Indiana, ending with their arrest and a drug recovery at the scene.

The chase began around 1:24 a.m. on June 20, 2025, when Hammond Police attempted to stop a silver Honda Civic. The car matched the description of a vehicle involved in a felony fleeing case from Forest Park, Illinois, but the driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit across the city.

Vehicle Stopped With Tire Deflation Tactics

The pursuit continued until officers deployed stop sticks near 165th Street and Calumet Avenue, successfully deflating the vehicle’s tires. Police then boxed in the Honda near the westbound ramp to I-80/94, bringing the chase to a close.
