CHICAGO — A man was seriously injured on a boat at The Playpen, a well-known boating and party area on Lake Michigan between Oak Street Beach and Navy Pier, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Injury Occurred During Busy Weekend at Lakefront
Fire officials said the incident happened Saturday afternoon, with the man sustaining a severe foot injury. The area, informally known as “The Playpen,” is a crowded hotspot during warm months, often drawing large groups of recreational boaters and swimmers.
The exact circumstances that led to the injury are still unclear, and authorities have not confirmed whether other individuals were involved.
Victim Hospitalized in Serious Condition
Emergency crews transported the man to Northwestern Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, CFD said. No updates were available regarding his recovery or the precise cause of the injury.
