ILLINOIS — A South Elgin man is facing serious legal consequences after being charged with 14 felony counts related to child p*rnography, including dissemination, reproduction, and possession of explicit material involving minors.
According to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, Colin J. McCambridge allegedly distributed and possessed multiple videos of child sexual abuse over a period spanning more than seven months.
Details of the Charges
The felony charges filed against McCambridge include:

2 counts of disseminating a moving depiction of child p*rnography

2 counts of reproducing a moving depiction of child p*rnography

10 counts of possessing a moving depiction of child p*rnography
Authorities allege the materials were shared or stored between November 8, 2024, and June 16, 2025. The allegations include both possession and distribution of multiple video files containing child sex abuse material, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney via WGN News.
Court Appearance and Release Conditions
McCambridge appeared in court on June 18 for a pretrial detention hearing. Prosecutors argued for his detention, but the court granted pretrial release under strict conditions.
