CHICAGO — R&B legends Brandy and Monica are reuniting for a long-anticipated joint tour this fall — and Chicago is one of the major stops on their 24-city journey celebrating their iconic 1998 hit, “The Boy Is Mine.”
Announced on NBC Chicago and highlighted in a CBS Mornings interview, the tour will mark the first time the two vocal powerhouses officially join forces onstage after decades of both collaboration and rumored tension.
“It was a dream come true,” Brandy told CBS, describing their reconciliation as a full-circle moment for the R&B stars.
Rekindled Partnership After Years of Feud
Brandy and Monica’s relationship was long overshadowed by rumors of a personal and professional feud — despite their Grammy-winning success together. But now, they’re putting the past behind them.
“We created the communication and the relationship to do it,” Monica said in her CBS interview. “We don’t even like the same type of boy,” she added humorously, pointing out the futility of their earlier rivalry.
The tour is not just about nostalgia — it’s about healing, celebration, and honoring their influence on ’90s and early 2000s R&B culture.
Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and Idol Winner Join the Lineup
Joining Brandy and Monica on tour will be:
-
Kelly Rowland, former Destiny’s Child member and Grammy Award winner
-
Muni Long, known for her breakout hit “Hrs and Hrs”
-
Jamal Roberts, the 2025 American Idol winner
Together, they bring a unique blend of veteran talent and rising voices, making this tour a cross-generational event for R&B lovers.
Tour Schedule and Chicago Date
The “Boy Is Mine” Tour kicks off October 16 in Cincinnati, with pre-sales starting Thursday at 10 a.m. using code BPC and general ticket sales opening Friday via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m.
Chicago fans can expect a major stop in the city, alongside performances in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and more. The Chicago venue and specific date are expected to be announced soon.
Why This Tour Matters
Beyond the music, this reunion is about forgiveness, growth, and legacy. For many fans, Brandy and Monica were the voices of their youth — and this tour promises to be a celebration of that era, as well as a showcase of where these artists are now.
