CHICAGO — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in the Englewood neighborhood over the weekend.
According to a community alert issued by Chicago Police, the crash occurred around 2:55 p.m. Saturday near 6300 S. Halsted Street. The 56-year-old man was walking near the intersection when he was struck by a gray 2014 Audi Q5, which fled the scene without stopping to help or contacting emergency services.
Vehicle Description Released
Investigators say the suspect vehicle is a four-door sedan with Illinois license plate EP16347. It may have visible front-end damage and possibly a recently replaced windshield — signs that may help residents identify the car.
Victim in Serious Condition
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries, heightening the urgency behind the search. Police have not released the victim’s name but say he remains hospitalized.
