CHICAGO — A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting on Chicago’s West Side that left a 52-year-old man seriously injured, according to the Chicago Police Department. Raymone Addison, of the 900 block of North Long Avenue, is facing two felony charges: Aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm Unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon Police say the incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Sunday in the 4400 block of West Monroe Street in the city’s 11th District, an area that has seen ongoing issues with gun violence. Shooting Followed By Swift Arrest According to investigators, the shooting left the victim with serious injuries, although no additional details about his current condition have been released. Less than two hours after the shooting, at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers arrested Addison in the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place. Authorities noted that Addison was quickly identified as the suspect and taken into custody without incident. The swift response underscores ongoing efforts to address firearm violence through proactive investigations. Pending Detention Hearing Addison is currently being held ahead of a detention hearing scheduled for today at 2600 S. California Avenue. The outcome of that hearing will determine whether he remains in custody as the case proceeds.
