Why It Matters
This isn’t just musical training—participants learn emotional expression, teamwork, cultural history, and creative thinking through jazz’s unique lens.
The “third-stream” approach blends classical technique with jazz spontaneity, preparing students for diverse musical futures .
What’s Next
The academy culminated in a final showcase featuring solo performances and ensemble originals. Many graduates go on to join school jazz programs, local ensembles, or even pursue music professionally.
Registrations for the 2026 Summer Jazz Academy will open early next year, with scholarships available to support participation.
