CHICAGO — Police are actively searching for an unidentified man accused of aggravated criminal sexual abuse following a disturbing encounter at Jones Park Playground in the South Loop Wednesday evening.
The incident happened around 7:37 p.m. on June 11 in the 1200 block of South Plymouth Court, directly next to South Loop Elementary School, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Incident Details: Girls Approached at Playground
Three young girls were playing on the playground when the man approached them. Police say he grabbed one child while she was crawling on the equipment. He then allegedly sat beside another girl, briefly engaged in conversation, and inappropriately touched her.
As the girls left the playground to avoid the man, the suspect reportedly followed them for a short distance before fleeing northbound through the Plymouth Court tunnel.
Suspect Description Released
Police provided the following description of the suspect:

Race: Black male

Age: Estimated between 60–70 years old

Distinctive Features: Bald head, grey or white facial hair, missing teeth, and at least one gold tooth

Clothing at time of incident: Black long-sleeve shirt with a white skeleton design, and blue jeans
The Chicago Police Department has also released surveillance images of the man and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying him.
