CHICAGO — After a stretch of muggy mornings and rising humidity, scattered showers and isolated storms are making a return to the city — with Thursday marking the start of what may be a wet lead-up to the weekend.
Thursday Forecast: Cooler Near the Lake, Storm Chance in Afternoon
According to CBS Chicago’s First Alert Weather team, temperatures will reach the low 80s inland but remain in the 70s along the lakefront. Forecasters say a stray shower or storm may pop up during the afternoon or evening hours, though most areas will remain dry.
“Cooler lake breezes will provide some comfort along the shoreline, but be weather-aware inland where pop-up storms are possible,” meteorologist Albert Ramon said.
Heavier Rain Expected Friday into Saturday
Things pick up Friday, with more widespread rain and thunderstorms likely across Chicagoland. Highs will again hover in the low-to-mid 80s. If you’re planning outdoor activities, Friday may be your cue to keep the umbrella close.
Saturday looks unsettled as well, with occasional showers and possible storms. The good news? Sunday’s weather is shaping up nicely for Father’s Day.
Father’s Day Weather: Mild & Breezy
