CHICAGO — After a clear start to the week, wildfire smoke from Canada is drifting back into the Chicago area on Tuesday, prompting forecasters to issue a moderate air quality alert.
According to CBS Chicago’s First Alert Weather Team, the haze won’t require most residents to alter their outdoor plans — but sensitive groups may want to take precautions.
“The air quality was good on Monday, but wildfire smoke will degrade it slightly on Tuesday,” meteorologists said. “Still, no major restrictions are expected.”
