ELGIN — Global drive systems manufacturer Flender has officially launched an expansion of its Elgin, Illinois service center, aiming to bolster support for customers across the United States and Canada with faster service, better inventory access, and cutting-edge repair capabilities.
The announcement came during a groundbreaking ceremony held Friday, June 27, attended by local government officials. Company leadership emphasized the investment as a transformative step for the North American market.

The facility is being constructed adjacent to Flender’s existing Elgin building and is expected to open in February 2026, according to Automation.com.
Kerry Klein, President of Flender Corporation, said the project reflects a renewed commitment to local service excellence.
“With this investment, we’re doubling down on our commitment to local service. We’re poised to significantly improve lead times, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness,” Klein said during the ceremony.

In addition to serving the Elgin region, the center will operate in tandem with Flender’s facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Together, the two locations will handle:
