Florida Woman Sentenced to Probation for Pepper-Spraying Men and Stealing Luxury Watches in Miami

MIAMI, FLORIDA – A 20-year-old woman has been sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to a string of violent hotel robberies, in which she pepper-sprayed male victims before stealing luxury watches, credit cards, and cash, according to multiple reports.

Esther Torres was arrested following two separate incidents that took place in March 2025 at upscale hotels in Miami Beach, including the Breakwater Hotel and the Fontainebleau.

Authorities say Torres lured affluent men to hotel rooms, then used mace to temporarily blind them, allowing her to remove valuables directly from their wrists.

Targeted Robberies at High-End Hotels

In the first attack, Torres met a man at the Breakwater Hotel, pepper-sprayed him, and stole his Hugo Boss watch, along with $200 in U.S. and Euro currency and multiple credit cards. She fled before security could intervene.

In the second case, she attacked another man at the Fontainebleau Hotel, stealing a $22,000 Rolex Submariner, according to a report from Law & Crime.

One victim reported being left temporarily blind by the mace, while surveillance cameras captured Torres exiting both hotels shortly after each robbery.

Arrest and Sentencing Details

Torres was eventually identified through her driver’s license when she appeared at the scene of another person’s traffic stop in April. Her appearance matched an image circulated in a “need to identify” police flyer, and officers later released body camera footage of her arrest, which included her denying possession of any weapons.

Police noted that a child was present in the car when Torres was taken into custody. The child was safely picked up before she was booked.

Initially charged with first-degree robbery and held without bond, Torres was later released on a recognizance bond in June. She is no longer in custody following her July sentencing, which allowed her to avoid jail time entirely, as confirmed by WSVN.
