Whether you’re looking for big city energy or local community charm, here are 12 must-experience Pride events across the Midwest that you shouldn’t miss this summer.
Chicago, IL – Chicago Pride Parade & Fest
Dates: June 21–22 (Pride Fest), June 29 (Parade)
Chicago’s Pride celebration began in 1970 and has grown into one of the most iconic in the nation. Pride Fest takes place in Northalsted with three stages, drag shows, live music, a Pet Parade, and Youth Pride Space. The Parade on June 29 spans 20 blocks and features over 100 entries. Hosted by the Northalsted Business Alliance.

Des Moines, IA – Capital City PrideFest
Dates: June 6–8
Des Moines’ Capital City Pride has grown significantly since the 1980s and now includes a weekend-long festival with performances, parades, and family zones. Hosted by Capital City Pride. The main parade on June 8 routes past the Iowa State Capitol.

Columbus, OH – Stonewall Columbus Pride
Dates: June 13–14

Minneapolis, MN – Twin Cities Pride

Springfield, MO – Ozarks Pridefest

Indianapolis, IN – Indy Pride Fest

Omaha, NE – Heartland Pride
