NAPERVILLE — A 26-year-old man from Woodridge was killed Thursday night after his motorcycle collided with an SUV at a busy Naperville intersection, according to local police.
Dante Fields was riding a blue 2024 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Chicago Avenue around 9:35 p.m. when he entered the intersection at Naper Boulevard. He had a green light at the time, police said.
SUV Turned Into Motorcycle’s Path, Police Say
The SUV was turning left from westbound Maple Avenue (which becomes Chicago Avenue west of Naper) onto southbound Naper Boulevard. According to the Naperville Police Department, that turn placed the SUV directly in the path of Fields’ motorcycle.
Fields struck the passenger side of the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was wearing safety gear at the time of the crash.
No Charges Filed Yet, Investigation Ongoing
As of Friday, no charges have been filed. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
