ROCKFORD, Ill. — A 19-year-old male was pronounced dead after being found with life-threatening gunshot wounds in Rockford Saturday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
Police Respond to Reports of Shots Fired
Officers with the Rockford Police Department were dispatched just before 4 p.m. to the 1200 block of Revell Avenue following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located the teenager suffering from severe injuries due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local medical facility, but succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
Second Gunshot Victim Walks Into Hospital
In a potentially related development, police noted that an 18-year-old male later arrived at a local hospital with gunshot injuries. However, his condition was deemed non-life-threatening.
