ILLINOIS — A 26-year-old Schaumburg man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting three people during a family gathering in unincorporated Elgin over the weekend.
The suspect, Jeremy Holt, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, armed violence, aggravated battery by strangulation, and mob action, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
Family Dispute Escalates Into Indoor Shooting
The incident took place on Sunday, June 22, at a residence in the 8N500 block of Gingerwood Lane. Authorities say the gathering included several family members and acquaintances, and that a dispute began outside the home before moving indoors.
Holt later admitted to firing the weapon that injured three people. As reported by WGN News, investigators said the situation escalated into violence before gunshots were fired inside the residence.
Three Victims Hospitalized With Non-Life-Threatening Injuries
Emergency responders transported all three victims to area hospitals. The victims included:

All were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
Holt remains in custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday. Deputies have not yet released a booking photo.
