BERWYN, ILLINOIS — A late-night shooting at a popular neighborhood bar in Berwyn left three people wounded over the weekend, with police still searching for the suspects responsible.
Gunfire Erupts After Argument
The incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Juniors Bar & Grill, located at 7011 Ogden Avenue. According to Berwyn police, the violence stemmed from a heated verbal exchange between two patrons inside the establishment. The dispute escalated when two individuals left the bar, and moments later, gunshots rang out from the sidewalk.
The bullets pierced a front window of the bar, striking three patrons inside. All three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals, where they were treated and released the same day.
Surveillance Footage Under Review
As of Monday, no arrests have been made. Investigators are reviewing video footage from inside and outside the bar to identify the shooters and determine whether the altercation was targeted or random.
Berwyn police have not disclosed the identities of the victims or suspects, and the exact motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or the shooting to come forward with information.
Community on Edge Amid Ongoing Investigation
The incident has rattled the usually quiet Berwyn neighborhood. “This is supposed to be a safe, local spot where people come to unwind, not get caught in gunfire,” said a nearby resident who frequents Juniors Bar & Grill.
Police presence has since increased in the area as the investigation continues. While Juniors Bar & Grill remains open, security protocols have been reassessed in light of the shooting.
Call for Information
Berwyn police are asking anyone with details about the suspects or the altercation to contact the department’s tip line. As of now, the shooters remain at large, and investigators are working to piece together what led to the violent outburst.
