Fischer Farm Fun ~ Among the oldest remaining homesteads in DuPage County, Fischer Farm was established in 1836, and the property is home to three pre-Civil War structures. Up and Coming Theatre and The Hemmens Cultural Center are excited to present their 2023 summer production of Fame. Fame tells a bittersweet, yet ultimately inspiring story of a group of vibrant, multicultural, energetic artists who study at New York City’s High School of Performing Arts. The journey this diverse group of students take unfolds through music, candor, humor, and insight as the show explores issues that confront many young people today. Show times are 7:30 pm July 14, 15, 21 and 22 with 3:00 pm matinees on July 16 and 23. Advanced reserved seating tickets are $24 and $18 (students/seniors). During COVID, like many other musicians, Denny started having fun streaming his performances online. Always up for a laugh, he began to refer to himself as “The World’s Okayest Vocalist” This new moniker caught on, and with it he’s adding all new performances in ‘2023’. One show will be called, “The World’s Okayest Vocalist Variety Hour”. This performance will cover songs made famous by legendary artists like Tom Jones, Barry Manilow, Elvis, and many others, including, of course, Neil Diamond.
