Weekend Weather Brings Heat, Humidity, and Storm Chances to Southeast Wisconsin
SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN — After a stretch of dry, comfortable conditions, Southeast Wisconsin is in for a sharp change this weekend as high heat, increasing humidity, and storm chances roll in.
Mild Week Ends with Rising Temps
Temperatures this week have hovered in the upper 70s to low 80s, offering a relatively pleasant break for the region. But as high pressure shifts east, southerly winds will begin to push in hotter, more humid air across the state.
Wildfire Smoke Could Return, But Less Severe
There’s also the potential for some wildfire smoke to drift back into eastern Wisconsin, according to TMJ4’s weather report. While it may affect air quality slightly, forecasters don’t expect this round to be as intense as earlier episodes this summer.
Weekend Storm Risk: North to South Shift Possible
A corridor of showers and storms is forecast to form across Minnesota and northern Wisconsin over the weekend. For Southeast Wisconsin, the outcome depends on how far south the storm track moves.
- Best-case scenario: Rain stays north until late Sunday or Monday.
- Worst-case scenario: Storms shift southward and linger into Monday and Tuesday, possibly increasing flooding concerns.
Temperature Outlook
- Saturday: High near 88°F, partly cloudy, very warm and humid, chance of rain/storms.
- Sunday: High near 85°F, partly cloudy, humid, chance of thunderstorms.
- Monday: Slight cooldown with 82°F high and a continued chance of storms.
- Midweek: A cooler trend is expected to return.
