Where Columbus Pet Owners Can Find Free and Low-Cost Vaccines This Summer

COLUMBUS, OHIO – For pet owners struggling with the cost of veterinary care, Columbus Humane is providing a lifeline this summer and fall. A series of low-cost vaccine clinics is being held throughout Franklin County, offering affordable services and in some cases, completely free shots for dogs and cats.

These seasonal events are part of Columbus Humane’s broader mission to make routine pet care more accessible, especially for families facing financial strain. According to the organization, they’ve already helped more than 650 pets this summer alone — and nearly 2,000 animals in Central Ohio during 2024.

Services Offered at Each Clinic

At participating mobile and walk-up clinics, the following services are available:

  • Rabies vaccine – $10
  • DAPLP for dogs – $15
  • FVRCP for cats – $15
  • Combo vaccine (rabies + core) – $20
  • Dewormer (select locations only) – $5
  • Free pet food pantry (available at select clinics)

The Columbus Humane Essential Care Center also provides year-round veterinary services, including wellness exams, vaccinations, minor surgical care, and free supplemental pet food for qualifying households. Their team says the goal is not just low cost — but community accessibility.

“We are working every day to make veterinary care accessible,” said Brittany Williams, marketing director at Columbus Humane. “But meeting people where they are is just as important,” she told Columbus Navigator.
