Woman Ejected, Multiple Injured in Peoria Rollover Crash at Glen Oak Intersection

PEORIA — A violent rollover crash at the intersection of Spalding and Glen Oak Avenue in Peoria sent multiple people to the hospital early Saturday — including a woman who was ejected from a vehicle and suffered serious injuries, according to Central Illinois Proud.

Peoria Police were dispatched to the scene following an initial report that a pedestrian had been struck, but upon arrival they discovered that the incident actually involved a two-vehicle crash, with one vehicle flipped over.

Crash Scene Revealed More Than Expected

When officers arrived around early morning hours, they quickly determined the situation was far more serious than first believed. Instead of a pedestrian accident, they found the aftermath of a high-impact collision, where a vehicle had rolled onto its roof.

Inside one of the vehicles, a woman had been thrown from the car due to the force of the crash. Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. No further updates on her condition have been released at this time.

Police Investigation Underway

The crash is under active investigation by Peoria Police Department’s Traffic Division. No arrests or citations have been announced as of Monday, and it’s unclear whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure were contributing factors.

The identities of the injured individuals have not yet been released, and officials have not confirmed how many people in total were transported for medical care.

Peoria Police spokeswoman Semone Roth confirmed the investigation is ongoing and more information will be shared once it’s available.
